Whispering Bench

The iconic Whispering Bench in Tanglewood's Formal Gardens has undergone a complete restoration and with it the historic view that frames it. Installed in the early 1900s on the former Tappan estate, the landmark once again gleams white, ready to receive secret messages of children and lovers whose whispers can be heard loud and clear from one end to the other. More than a few wedding vows have traveled down its long, elegant curve. Overgrown hedges behind the bench have been replanted, revealing views of the Berkshire Hills beyond.
