The REACH is the first major expansion in the history of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Opened in September 2019, it was designed to transform the Kennedy Center from a traditional, somewhat formal venue into a "living theater"—a 21st-century community space where the boundaries between the audience and the artistic process are blurred. It received the ACI Excellence in Concrete Construction (2020) award. Recognized for the complex "titanium white" and "crinkle" concrete work that serves both structural and acoustic purposes.
